Fees explained

Bybit EU is in the middle of a fee change, and the direction matters. The rates below are the current VIP 0 rates and the unified rates that take effect from October 5, 2026 at 11:00 UTC (source: Bybit EU trading fee structure). At VIP 0 the taker rate holds at 0.2500% until your asset balance passes €100,000, and after the change the maker discount goes away entirely for base-tier accounts.

History and ownership

Bybit EU GmbH is a Vienna company, registered at Donau-City-Straße 7, 1220 Vienna, and identified in the European regulatory record by the legal entity identifier 5299005V5GBSN2A4C303 (source: Authority for the Financial Markets, crypto register, downloaded September 2026). It is the European arm of the Bybit group and is a much newer entity than the global exchange whose name it carries.

That distinction is the most important thing on this page. When you open an account on the European platform you are contracting with an Austrian company supervised under European rules, not with the offshore group. Balances, product availability, and legal recourse follow the European entity, and the two platforms are not interchangeable.

The register records Bybit EU GmbH as a cross-border crypto-asset service provider under Article 65 of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, with Austria as its home state, passporting services into other European Economic Area countries including the Netherlands (source: same register).
