Assets You Can Trade on eToro

Fees explained

eToro charges a single crypto trading fee instead of a maker taker fee schedule. As of September 2026 that fee is 1% per position for Bronze, Silver and Gold club members trading up to $10,000 of crypto a month, and it falls to 0.10% for Diamond members above $10 million (source: eToro fees page). Every other published charge is a movement charge rather than a trading one, and the largest is the 2% you pay to send a cryptoasset off the platform.

eToro published crypto charges, September 2026 (source: eToro fees page)
ActionPublished charge
Crypto trade, Bronze to Gold, $0 to $10,000 monthly volume1% per position
Crypto trade, Diamond, above $10 million monthly volume0.10% per position
Crypto contract for difference1% per trade
Selling crypto held in the eToro Money wallet0.6% to 1%
Transferring a cryptoasset out of the platform2%
Withdrawal from a local currency accountFree
Withdrawal from a US dollar investment account$5

The gap in that table matters as much as the rows. The fees page lists account opening, management, withdrawal and inactivity charges and carries no deposit line at all, and the payment-methods table gives limits without attaching a cost to any rail. RampAtlas therefore publishes no eToro deposit fee and no card fee, because neither figure exists on a page we could read. The minimum withdrawal is $30.

A cost estimate for a $500 purchase on eToro and Bitpanda appears here once the published fee schedules are verified.

History and ownership

eToro dates to 2007 and is run from Israel (source: eToro about page). The corporate parent is eToro Group Ltd, which files an annual report on Form 20-F with the Securities and Exchange Commission, so audited group accounts exist in the public record rather than only in a marketing deck (source: eToro Group Ltd Form 20-F cover page, sec.gov). Most European broker apps are private companies whose finances you cannot check.

The licensing map is wide and it is the strongest thing about the company. Every entity below comes from eToro's own regulation page except the Cyprus row, which RampAtlas confirmed against a regulator source.

Products and markets

The business is a multi-asset broker rather than an exchange, and eToro says so plainly. It works with regulated partner companies that provide crypto trade execution and custody, and those partners buy through secondary market exchanges to source liquidity (source: eToro fees page, United States edition). You are buying from eToro at a quoted price. There is no public order book to work and no limit order rate to beat.

As of September 2026, 33 of the assets RampAtlas tracks have a live eToro market page, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, Tether and USDC (source: eToro market pages). That is a count of pages we could verify one at a time. eToro's own full cryptocurrency list is a client-rendered application that returned no text to us, so treat 33 as a floor rather than the whole catalogue.

Alongside spot crypto, eToro sells crypto contracts for difference at 1% per trade and runs the eToro Money wallet, where selling costs 0.6% to 1% (source: eToro fees page). A contract for difference is a derivatives product: you never hold the asset.

Security record and custody

Custody is outsourced. eToro states that its regulated partner companies provide both execution and custody, which means the firm holding your coins is not the firm whose app you opened (source: eToro fees page, United States edition). The partners are not named on any page we could read, and eToro publishes no proof of reserves attestation that we could find.

No eToro entity appears on the European Securities and Markets Authority's list of non-compliant crypto-asset service providers, and we found no enforcement action, insolvency or hack against an eToro entity in the regulator registers and company pages used for this review. That is a narrower statement than "no incidents ever."

Deposits and withdrawals

eToro accepts bank transfers in 13 currencies: US dollars, pounds sterling, euros, Australian dollars, United Arab Emirates dirhams, Swiss francs, Danish kroner, Norwegian kroner, Polish zloty, Swedish kronor, Hungarian forint, Romanian leu and Czech koruna (source: eToro deposit FAQ). Cards are Visa, MasterCard, Visa Electron and Maestro, and the payment-methods table also lists eToro Money, PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, iDEAL, Trustly online banking, Przelewy 24 and bank transfer (source: eToro deposit FAQ).

Withdrawals are free from a local currency account and cost a fixed $5 from a US dollar investment account, with a $30 minimum (source: eToro fees page). The charge to watch is the 2% for transferring a cryptoasset out of the platform. If your plan is to buy and then move coins to self custody, that 2% is the real cost of the relationship and it is larger than the trade fee that got you in.

Support and usability

Verification comes first. eToro states that kyc is a mandatory part of registering and that regulatory requirements dictate checking every new account (source: eToro account verification page). Availability then depends on where you live, and the published record there is thin. In the United States, crypto trading is not available in Nevada, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands, while New York residents are served by eToro NY LLC under its state licenses (source: eToro live states page). Outside the United States, eToro publishes no crypto supported-countries page that we could fetch, so RampAtlas has not stated which countries can and cannot trade crypto beyond the entities listed above.

The single-price model is the usability story. There is no fee table to learn and no order type to choose, and the price you see is the price you get. The flip side is that the only lever you have on cost is club tier, which is driven by volume, so a small account pays the full 1% every time.

eToro fits someone who wants stocks, exchange-traded funds and crypto in one regulated account and treats the 1% as the price of that convenience. The licensing spread across seven entities and the Form 20-F filing put it ahead of most European broker apps on transparency of the company, if not of its fees.

It is the wrong choice if you intend to move coins to your own wallet, because the 2% transfer-out charge dwarfs the trade fee, or if you want to know what funding costs before you commit, because eToro does not publish that. Compare against a European broker that does publish its deposit rails at Compare, and see United Kingdom for the local picture.

Guides

  • Crypto Estate Planning: Making Sure Your Coins Aren't Lost With You

Passing on cryptocurrency requires two things that an ordinary will does not provide on its own, a record of what exists and where, and a route by which the person inheriting it can reach the keys, because no court order can recover a seed phrase nobody wrote down.

  • Crypto Tax in Australia: CGT, Records, and the ATO

In Australia the Australian Taxation Office treats a crypto asset as a capital gains tax asset, so disposing of it by selling, swapping, or spending it is a CGT event, while tokens you receive from activities such as staking are treated as income when you receive them.

  • Crypto Tax in Canada: How the CRA Treats Cryptocurrency

In Canada a crypto disposal produces either a capital gain or business income, and where it is a capital gain the Income Tax Act makes one half of that gain taxable and adds it to your income for the year at your marginal rate.
