Assets You Can Trade on Swyftx

We have not yet verified which assets Swyftx lists.

Fees explained

Swyftx charges a trading fee of 0.6% at the base tier plus a spread it does not put a number on. As of September 2026 the published tiers are 0.6% under $100,000 of 30-day volume, 0.55% at $100,000 and above, and 0.5% at $300,000 and above, with no maker or taker split (source: Swyftx support, "Our trading fees"). The spread is charged on top and is the part you cannot price in advance.

30-day trade volume (AUD)Trading fee
Under $100,0000.6%
$100,000 and above0.55%
$300,000 and above0.5%

Swyftx is explicit that the fee is not the whole cost. The platform states that it "charges a spread in addition to the trading fee for each cryptocurrency transaction (buying, selling, or swapping)", that "both the spread and trading fee are included in the displayed price before confirming your trade", and that "the spread consists of a base component and a market-dependent component" (source: Swyftx support). What it does not state is how large either component is, for any asset, at any time.

That matters more than the headline rate. RampAtlas estimates an all-in cost from a trading fee, a spread and a deposit fee, and with no published spread Swyftx cannot produce a complete estimate, so it does not appear in cost rankings on this site. The disclosure is honest about the mechanism and silent about the number, which leaves you comparing a 0.6% figure against venues whose full cost you can actually compute.

A cost estimate for a $500 purchase on Swyftx and CoinSpot appears here once the published fee schedules are verified.

History and ownership

Swyftx is operated by Swyftx Pty Ltd, ABN 72 623 556 730, an Australian company founded in 2019 and based in Australia. It holds Australian Financial Services Licence 568543, which covers derivatives rather than spot crypto trading, so the licence is not the authorisation under which it sells you Bitcoin.

The registrations that do cover the crypto business are stated in the terms: Swyftx "is registered with AUSTRAC (the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre) in Australia and with the Department of Internal Affairs in New Zealand under the relevant AML/CTF Laws" (source: Swyftx terms of use). Neither registration number is published in the terms, and RampAtlas could not reach the AUSTRAC digital currency exchange register or the New Zealand reporting-entity register to read them independently. The registrations are therefore recorded on the company's own statement, which is weaker evidence than a register entry and is flagged as such.

Swyftx is privately held. There are no audited public accounts, no quarterly filings and no shareholder disclosure of the kind a listed company produces.

Products and markets

Swyftx is a two-country platform. Account eligibility runs to residents of Australia and New Zealand and no further: the terms require that "you are a resident of Australia or New Zealand" (source: Swyftx terms of use). Australian and New Zealand dollars are the only fiat currencies it deposits or withdraws (source: Swyftx support, "Fees for deposits and withdrawals").

The trading model is a single tiered fee across every route rather than a cheap order book screen and an expensive instant one. That is the opposite of how most of its domestic competitors are priced, and it removes the trap where a beginner pays ten times the rate for pressing the obvious button. The cost of that simplicity is the undisclosed spread: instead of two visible prices you get one, and the difference between them lives inside a number nobody publishes.

RampAtlas does not publish an asset count for Swyftx, because the platform's fees and pricing pages are a JavaScript application and no machine-readable market list could be verified as of September 2026.

Security record and custody

Swyftx publishes a security page describing account-level protections and internal staff practices. It publishes no proof of reserves attestation, no external audit report and no ISO certification that RampAtlas could verify from a primary source as of September 2026.

The substantive assurance is the regulatory one, and it is real but limited. AUSTRAC registration is an anti-money-laundering obligation. It requires a firm to identify its customers, monitor transactions and report suspicious activity, and it is why kyc is mandatory here: the terms require you to supply "any information, documentation, and authorisation requested by us which we deem necessary to comply with all applicable laws, including but not limited to AML/CTF Laws" (source: Swyftx terms of use).

RampAtlas has not verified an incident history for Swyftx against a primary or regulator source, so this review makes no claim in either direction about past security events.

Deposits and withdrawals

Bank funding is free in both directions and both currencies, which is the strongest thing on Swyftx's fee card. The published charges as of September 2026 are below (source: Swyftx support, "Fees for deposits and withdrawals").

Swyftx deposit and withdrawal fees, September 2026 (source: Swyftx support, "Fees for deposits and withdrawals")
RailFee

AUD PayID depositFree
NZD bank transfer depositFree
Card deposit via Stripe1.875%
Card deposit via Banxa1.99% plus up to a 3.5% spread
AUD withdrawalFree
NZD withdrawalFree

Swyftx states that it "doesn't charge fees for bank transfers or PayID deposits in Australian dollars" and charges nothing for withdrawals in either currency. The card route is where the money goes. Through Stripe the fee is 1.875% per transaction in Australian dollars and 2.734% in New Zealand dollars. Through Banxa, Swyftx charges nothing itself, but Banxa "currently charges a 1.99% fee and up to a 3.5% spread", which puts the worst case near 5.5% before Swyftx's own trading fee and spread are added.

The practical sequence is the same one that works almost everywhere: move money in by PayID or bank transfer, which costs nothing, and never fund a crypto purchase with a card.

Support and usability

Swyftx is built for a retail audience and reads that way. One fee applies whichever route you take, the deposit rails are free, and there is no second professional screen to graduate to. For someone who wants to buy occasionally in Australian dollars and not think about maker taker fee tables, that is a genuine advantage over venues where the default button quietly costs ten times the alternative.

The weakness is verifiability rather than usability. The fees and pricing pages render only in a browser, so the numbers are harder to check independently than they should be, and the authoritative rate tables live in the support centre rather than on the marketing pages. Anyone comparing Australian options should start at Australia and Buy Bitcoin in Australia.

Swyftx fits an Australian or New Zealand resident who funds by bank transfer, buys occasionally, and values one simple rate over a cheap screen and an expensive one. Free deposits and free fiat withdrawals in both currencies are a real saving, and the New Zealand support is unusual among Australian platforms.

Look elsewhere if you want to know your total cost before you trade. The undisclosed spread means the 0.6% headline is a floor rather than a price, and it is the reason Swyftx cannot be ranked on cost here. Look elsewhere too if you intend to fund by card, where the Banxa route can approach 5.5% all in, or if you live outside Australia and New Zealand, where accounts are not offered. • Crypto Estate Planning: Making Sure Your Coins Aren't Lost With You

Passing on cryptocurrency requires two things that an ordinary will does not provide on its own, a record of what exists and where, and a route by which the person inheriting it can reach the keys, because no court order can recover a seed phrase nobody wrote down.

  • Crypto Tax in Australia: CGT, Records, and the ATO

In Australia the Australian Taxation Office treats a crypto asset as a capital gains tax asset, so disposing of it by selling, swapping, or spending it is a CGT event, while tokens you receive from activities such as staking are treated as income when you receive them.

In Canada a crypto disposal produces either a capital gain or business income, and where it is a capital gain the Income Tax Act makes one half of that gain taxable and adds it to your income for the year at your marginal rate.
