Assets You Can Trade on CoinSpot

We have not yet verified which assets CoinSpot lists.

Fees explained

CoinSpot charges 0.1% on a market order and 1% on almost every other way of buying the same coin. As of September 2026 the published rates are 0.1% on Market Orders and OTC, and 1% on Instant Buy, Sell and Swap, on Take Profit, Stop and Limit Orders, and on Recurring Buy (source: CoinSpot fees page). Which button you press is worth ten times more than which coin you pick.

CoinSpot trading fees by route, September 2026 (source: CoinSpot fees page)
RouteFee
Market order0.1%
OTC0.1%
Instant Buy, Sell and Swap1%
Take Profit, Stop and Limit orders1%
Recurring Buy1%

Two things in that table catch people out. The first is the Instant Buy screen, which is the default path for a new account and costs 1%; on a $500 purchase that is $5 against the $0.50 a market order would cost. The second is stranger, and it is the reason the limit order row sits in the expensive half: on most exchanges a resting limit order is the cheapest route on the venue, and on CoinSpot it costs the same 1% as the instant desk. Patience is not rewarded here. The cheap route is specifically the market order on the Markets screen, where CoinSpot states you "buy/sell their cryptocurrencies at the best available market price with other CoinSpot users" (source: CoinSpot fees page).

CoinSpot publishes no spread figure alongside these rates, so RampAtlas records the 1% and 0.1% as fees and does not estimate a spread on top of them.

A cost estimate for a $500 purchase on CoinSpot and Swyftx appears here once the published fee schedules are verified.

History and ownership

CoinSpot is the trading name of Casey Block Services Pty Ltd, ABN 19 619 574 186 (source: CoinSpot terms of use). That is the entity name to search when you want to check a company register or a court record, rather than the brand on the app, and the two do not match, which is normal for Australian crypto businesses and worth knowing before you go looking.

The company is privately held and publishes no audited group accounts, so there is no revenue figure, no balance sheet and no shareholder list to check. What it does publish is scale: as of September 2026 the site invites you to "Join 3 million other users" (source: CoinSpot home page), and the footer records a member-since date of 2 February 2014.

One gap is worth stating plainly rather than glossing. An Australian exchange is expected to be registered with AUSTRAC as a digital currency exchange provider, and RampAtlas could not find a registration statement or a registration number published anywhere on coinspot.com.au, nor reach the AUSTRAC register to look the entity up. The terms of use point to a separate AML and CTF policy document that does not resolve. RampAtlas therefore publishes no licence record for CoinSpot, which means the absence of one here is a gap in our verification, not a finding about the company.

Products and markets

CoinSpot runs two venues side by side under one login. The Markets screen is the order book, where your order meets another CoinSpot user's; the Instant Buy, Sell and Swap screen is a dealing desk that quotes you a price and charges 1% for the convenience. Around those sit an OTC desk at 0.1% for larger orders, a Recurring Buy that automates dollar cost averaging at 1%, and conditional orders.

The asset list is broad by Australian standards, but CoinSpot does not publish a machine-readable count that RampAtlas could verify as of September 2026, so no number appears here. What matters more for cost is that not every listed coin has a liquid market on the Markets screen. A thin book means a market order can move the price against you even at 0.1%, and the saving over Instant Buy narrows. Check the depth on the pair before assuming the cheap route is cheap for the size you are buying.

Security record and custody

CoinSpot publishes an external certification rather than an attestation of holdings. The company states that it "was required to complete an external audit undertaken by Sustainable Certification" and has held ISO/IEC 27001 certification since 13 February 2020, and describes keeping the majority of customer assets in cold storage (source: CoinSpot security page).

That is a real, checkable third-party process, and it is a stronger signal than a security page written in-house. It is also a certification of the information security management system, not of the coins. ISO/IEC 27001 says the company runs its security program to a published standard and that an auditor tested it. It does not say how much Bitcoin is in the wallets.

RampAtlas has not verified CoinSpot's incident history against a primary or regulator source, so this review makes no claim in either direction about past security events. Where a claim cannot be sourced, RampAtlas leaves it out rather than repeat it.

Deposits and withdrawals

Funding is the part CoinSpot does cheaply, provided you use a bank rail. The published AUD charges as of September 2026 are set out below (source: CoinSpot fees page).

CoinSpot AUD deposit and withdrawal fees, September 2026 (source: CoinSpot fees page)
RailFee
PayID depositFree
Direct bank depositFree
Cash deposit2.5%
Card deposit1.22%
PayPal deposit0.5%
AUD bank withdrawalFree
PayPal AUD withdrawal2%

PayID and direct deposit are free in both directions, which makes the round trip into and out of Australian dollars cost nothing at CoinSpot. Everything else carries a percentage. A cash deposit at 2.5% and a card deposit at 1.22% both stack on top of whatever trading route you then use, so a card-funded Instant Buy costs 2.22% before the spread on the coin, against 0.1% for a PayID deposit followed by a market order.

AUD is the only fiat currency CoinSpot deposits or withdraws (source: CoinSpot fees page). If you hold another currency you are converting before you arrive, at your bank's rate rather than CoinSpot's.

Support and usability

Signing up is deliberately low-friction for an Australian: CoinSpot states that "anyone over the age of 16 can open an account" with an email address, an Australian mobile number and a valid form of ID (source: CoinSpot home page). The Australian mobile requirement is the quiet geoblocking mechanism, and it matches the terms, which state that the platform "has been designed for Australian residents" and is not intended for anyone living elsewhere (source: CoinSpot terms of use). kyc applies to every account.

The interface is the platform's real selling point and its real cost. Instant Buy is fast, forgiving and the default, and it is ten times the price of the Markets screen. Anyone buying more than occasionally should learn the second screen before the difference compounds. RampAtlas could not retrieve CoinSpot's pricing FAQ, which sits behind a help centre that refuses non-browser requests, so no support-response or availability claim appears in this review.

CoinSpot suits an Australian resident who funds by PayID, buys on the Markets screen, and wants a domestic platform with a free round trip into and out of Australian dollars. Used that way it is one of the cheaper routes available in Australia, and the ISO/IEC 27001 certification is more than most competitors publish.

It is a poor fit if you will use Instant Buy, Swap or Recurring Buy, where 1% is ten times the market rate and the convenience is doing all the earning; if you want a resting limit order to be the cheap option, because here it is not; or if you live anywhere outside Australia, where the platform is not offered at all. Anyone weighing the domestic alternatives should compare the published rates at Compare and check what is available where they live at Exchanges available in Australia.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Market orders cost 0.1%, a tenth of the Instant Buy rate
  • PayID and direct bank deposits are free, and so are AUD bank withdrawals
  • Externally audited to ISO/IEC 27001 since February 2020

Cons

  • Instant Buy, Swap and Recurring Buy all cost 1%
  • Limit, stop and take-profit orders cost 1% as well, not 0.1%
  • Australian residents only, with AUD the single fiat currency

  • Crypto Tax in Australia: CGT, Records, and the ATO
