Assets You Can Trade on Strike
Fees explained
Strike charges a percentage fee that falls with monthly volume, plus a spread it publishes as a target rather than a rate. As of September 2026, a customer with under $5,000 of monthly volume pays 0.89%, and Strike states it targets an all-in spread of 0.22% (source: Strike bitcoin trading fees FAQ). Recurring purchases after the first week, and direct-deposit buys up to $20,000 a month, are free of the trading fee. That is the cheapest route on the menu by a wide margin.
Strike is a broker, not an exchange. When you buy or sell bitcoin using Strike, including buying via direct deposit, a trading fee is applied, called the Strike fee (source: Strike bitcoin trading fees FAQ). You are buying from Strike at a price it quotes, not matching against another customer on an order book, so there is no maker taker fee table and no limit order to leave sitting.
| Monthly volume | Fee |
|---|---|
| Under $5,000 | 0.89% |
| $5,000 – $50,000 | 0.79% |
| $50,000 – $500,000 | 0.69% |
| $500,000 – $5,000,000 | 0.59% |
| $5,000,000 – $15,000,000 | 0.39% |
| Above $15,000,000 | 0.25% |
The spread sits on top of whichever row applies to you, and Strike is more specific about it than most brokers. It states that it targets an all-in spread of 0.22%, that the actual spread on any given purchase or sale may be higher or lower, and that it is always reflected in the buy or sell price you see. Its own worked example: if the mid-point price of bitcoin is $100,000, a spread near this target would mean buying from Strike at around $100,220 (source: Strike bitcoin trading fees FAQ). Publishing a target and a worked example is unusual, and it lets you check the quote against a reference price before confirming. It is still a target, not a commitment.
Read the two together and a small one-off buy costs roughly 1.11% all in, while a recurring buy costs roughly 0.22%, the spread alone.
| Exchange | Cost on $500 | Rate | Verified |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strike | $5.55 | 1.11% | September 3, 2026 |
| Cash App | $13.75 | 2.75% | September 3, 2026 |

History and ownership
Strike is operated by three companies, and which one you deal with depends on where you live. For customers in the United States the app is provided exclusively by Zap Solutions, Inc., a Delaware corporation. In eligible countries in Europe and the United Kingdom it is provided by Zap (Strike) Europe Limited, and in all other countries by E4 S.A. de C.V. (source: Strike availability FAQ). Zap Solutions, Inc. does business as Strike and carries NMLS ID 1902919 (source: Strike licenses page).
Strike publishes no founding year, no headquarters address and no ownership disclosure on the pages sourced here, so its age, its investors and its financial position are all not published. That is a real gap. It is a private company with no listed parent, which means no audited accounts you can read and no scheduled disclosure of litigation. Compare that with a broker owned by a public company, where at least the financial statements are on file.
Products and markets
The product is one asset. Strike is bitcoin only, and no other asset RampAtlas tracks is offered (source: Strike availability FAQ). If you want ethereum, a stablecoin or anything else, this venue cannot serve you at any price.
US coverage is complete and uniform, which is rare. Strike is available to individuals who reside in, and businesses registered in, all 50 US states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, and buying, selling and holding bitcoin is supported everywhere (source: Strike availability FAQ). The state-by-state gaps that catch out buyers at other brokers do not apply to the buy flow here. Other Strike products do vary: loans, the line of credit, bill pay and Send Globally are only available in select states and territories (source: same FAQ), but none of those touches a bitcoin purchase.
Outside the United States, the only country the sources here name is the United Kingdom, served by Zap (Strike) Europe Limited (source: Strike availability FAQ). Strike publishes no country list on the pages used for this review, so availability anywhere else is not published and should be checked in the app before you plan around it.
Security record and custody
The licensing that is published is thin but real. Zap Solutions, Inc. doing business as Strike is licensed to engage in virtual currency business activity by the New York State Department of Financial Services (source: Strike licenses page), and the same page carries NMLS ID 1902919 for the state money transmitter registrations. The per-state licence table on that page is rendered in the browser and did not appear in the fetched version, so the full state licence list could not be captured here. Identity verification is required: signing up asks for full name, date of birth, phone number, residential address and Social Security number, with an ID scan possible for verification or higher limits (source: Strike account sign-up FAQ). That is standard kyc.
Deposits and withdrawals
Funding is where the cost is decided, and the gap between rails is larger than the gap between fee tiers.
| Deposit method | Fee | Bitcoin buying |
|---|---|---|
| Bank account (ACH) | Free | Instantly |
| Debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay | 1.94%, minimum $0.99 | Instantly |
| Wire transfer | Not published | Upon deposit arrival, typically about one business day |
Strike charges a deposit fee when you deposit or buy bitcoin directly from a linked payment method, but waives that fee for ACH bank transfers (source: Strike cash transaction fees FAQ). Credit cards and virtual cards are not supported (source: Strike deposit method FAQ). Paying by card therefore adds 1.94% to a 0.89% trade, roughly tripling the cost of a small purchase, while an ACH deposit adds nothing. Every published Strike figure is in US dollars.
No withdrawal fee or network fee for moving bitcoin off Strike is published on these pages.
Support and usability
Strike does one thing, and the interface reflects that. There is no coin list to scroll, no chart to misread and no order type to choose, so the only decisions are how to fund and whether to buy once or on a schedule. Both of those decisions are worth more than the choice of venue: fund by bank and buy on a recurring schedule and you pay the spread alone; fund by card and buy once and you pay about six times as much.
Support hours, channels and response times are not published on the pages sourced here, and neither are Strike's terms of service in a readable form, so eligibility conditions beyond the sign-up requirements could not be checked.

Strike suits a US buyer who wants bitcoin and nothing else, funds by bank transfer, and will set up a recurring purchase or buy through direct deposit. On that route the published cost is the 0.22% target spread and nothing more, which undercuts most order-book venues before you count their deposit rails. The uniform 50-state coverage removes the state lottery that complicates other brokers. It is a poor fit if you want a second asset, if you intend to pay by card, or if you need a public reserves attestation and a company history you can read, neither of which Strike publishes. Compare all-in costs at Compare and the asset-level routes at Buy Bitcoin.

- Crypto Estate Planning: Making Sure Your Coins Aren't Lost With You
Passing on cryptocurrency requires two things that an ordinary will does not provide on its own, a record of what exists and where, and a route by which the person inheriting it can reach the keys, because no court order can recover a seed phrase nobody wrote down.
- Crypto Tax in Australia: CGT, Records, and the ATO
In Australia the Australian Taxation Office treats a crypto asset as a capital gains tax asset, so disposing of it by selling, swapping, or spending it is a CGT event, while tokens you receive from activities such as staking are treated as income when you receive them.

In Canada a crypto disposal produces either a capital gain or business income, and where it is a capital gain the Income Tax Act makes one half of that gain taxable and adds it to your income for the year at your marginal rate.
