About Ape and Pepe

What Ape and Pepe is

Ape and Pepe is a memecoin on Polygon with a fixed supply of 210 trillion tokens and no transfer tax. Its documentation describes APEPE as "a culture-led meme ecosystem built on the Polygon network," launched in June 2023 "as a community-driven initiative" that "has since expanded into a structured Web3 ecosystem spanning exchanges, wallets, platforms, and brand exposure" (source: APEPE documentation, read September 2026).

There is no protocol here, and the documentation does not claim one. APEPE is an erc 20 token on Polygon at 0xA3f751662e282E83EC3cBc387d225Ca56dD63D3A. It has no consensus mechanism, no staking, no lending market and no fee capture of its own; it inherits Polygon's block production and gas model entirely.

What the project does document is a distribution table, a stated no-tax policy, and a record of exchange listings and partner integrations.

For where to buy Ape and Pepe from your country or state, see the availability tables on this page and the venues listed at Exchanges.

How it works

Mechanically, APEPE is a plain token transfer. The documentation states the trading tax as "0% Buy / 0% Sell," which means no portion of a trade is diverted to a marketing wallet, a reflection pool or an automatic liquidity function. That is worth stating explicitly because taxed memecoins are common and the tax is often the largest hidden cost of trading one.

On supply the documentation makes three claims: "Total supply is fixed," "No hidden mint functions," and "No surprise emissions." It also states that "All tokens have been deployed on-chain," and directs holders to verify the contract address through official channels.

The choice of chain is explained in the documentation's own terms. It says APEPE "is deployed on the Polygon network — a scalable, EVM-compatible Layer 2 infrastructure designed to support high-throughput decentralized applications," and that Polygon was chosen "based on long-term scalability and ecosystem compatibility" rather than trend, so the project can "maintain low transaction costs for community participation" and "support exchange liquidity movements efficiently."

Beyond the token, the documented product is MEMONS, which the documentation calls "the digital collectible platform built by APEPE," created "to expand the APEPE ecosystem beyond a meme token." Its stated design goal is "a repeatable platform economy where collecting, participation, and marketplace activity create long-term ecosystem growth," and the documentation sizes the markets it is aiming at as a collectible card market of roughly $14.1 billion, a loot box and gacha market of roughly $10.7 billion and an nft market of roughly $16.0 billion. MEMONS is described through a capsule system, a vault and a marketplace.

Liquidity is documented as spread across both venue types. The documentation says "APEPE liquidity is distributed across decentralized and centralized exchanges" and that decentralized pool activity is publicly observable on-chain.

Supply and tokenomics

Total supply is 210,000,000,000,000 APEPE, allocated across seven categories.

20%

Exchange liquidity

10% DEX plus 10% CEX

Two features of that table are worth reading carefully. A fifth of supply, 20.48%, sits with early contributors, and the documentation read for this page does not publish a vesting schedule for it or name the holders. Separately, a full 20% is earmarked for liquidity across decentralized and centralized venues, which is a large allocation by memecoin standards and consistent with a project whose stated strategy is exchange expansion.

The remaining categories, community users, early OpenBook traders, holders and a reserve, account for 59.52% between them. The documentation does not publish claim mechanics or dates for these tranches on the pages read.

There is no ongoing emission. With a fixed supply, no mint function and no tax, the token's on-chain economics are complete: transfers move balances and nothing else changes.

History

The documentation dates the launch to June 2023 on Polygon and describes a sequence of milestones since. In late 2023 the project reports passing "over 2 million community members across platforms."

November 2024 is when the exchange strategy became visible. The documentation records "20+ Exchange Listings," naming Gate, MEXC and BingX among them. December 2024 brought wallet campaign participation, listed as the OKX Wallet "Paradise" campaign and a first-place finish in "Bitget Wallet MemeWave 2025."

Through 2025 the documentation logs an HTX listing in July, a Coinone listing and campaign in October, a D'CENT wallet campaign and a GOPAX listing in November, and in December two integrations outside the exchange world: an "Official APEPE character integration within the RealGo gaming ecosystem" and a poker integration described as "APEPE Hold'em." The documentation characterizes this period as "platform-level ecosystem integration beyond exchange listings."

The project's own framing of what makes it different is repeated throughout: "While many meme tokens rely on short-term narratives, APEPE has focused on verifiable ecosystem growth and sustained visibility." Whether listings and campaign wins amount to growth is a judgment; that they happened is a documented record.

Risks and what to watch

Contributor concentration is the clearest documented risk. Early contributors hold 20.48% of supply, and the documentation read for this page publishes neither a vesting schedule nor a holder count for that allocation. A fifth of supply with unpublished lockup terms is a supply overhang that cannot be sized from the documentation.

The reserve allocation, 10%, is similarly undefined on those pages. What it is for and who controls it are not stated.

Liquidity across many venues is not the same as deep liquidity on any one. Twenty-plus centralized listings spread the token thinly, and a memecoin's exit price depends on the depth of the specific book you sell into. RampAtlas measures spreads and depth per venue rather than accepting a listing count as evidence of liquidity.

MEMONS is described in the documentation as a platform with a vision and a market-size argument. Read those market figures as the project's own framing of an opportunity, not as revenue.

Finally, a zero-tax contract is a good property but not a guarantee about anything else. Verify the contract address, 0xA3f751662e282E83EC3cBc387d225Ca56dD63D3A, through official channels before transacting, as the documentation itself advises.

Frequently asked questions

What is APEPE's total supply?

210,000,000,000,000 tokens. The documentation states the total supply is fixed, with no hidden mint functions and no surprise emissions, and that all tokens have been deployed on-chain.

Does APEPE have a buy or sell tax?

No. The documentation gives the trading tax as "0% Buy / 0% Sell," so no portion of a trade is diverted to a marketing wallet, reflection pool or automatic liquidity function.

Which chain is APEPE on?

Polygon. The contract address published in the documentation is 0xA3f751662e282E83EC3cBc387d225Ca56dD63D3A, and the documentation advises verifying it through official channels.

What is MEMONS?

APEPE's digital collectible platform, built to extend the ecosystem beyond the token. The documentation describes a capsule system, a vault for collecting and a marketplace for trading collectibles.

Guides

  • Self-Custody vs Exchange Custody: How to Decide

Deciding between self-custody and exchange custody means choosing which failure you would rather be exposed to, a company that loses or freezes your assets or a mistake of your own that nobody can undo, and most people resolve it by splitting holdings rather than picking one for everything.

  • How to Verify a Token Contract Address Before You Buy

A token's contract address is its only real identity, so verifying one means getting the address from the project's own official channel, confirming the same address independently from a second source, and checking on a block explorer that the contract is what it claims to be before you trade against it.

  • Choosing Your First Crypto Wallet

Choosing a first wallet comes down to one question, whether a company holds your keys or you do, and the right answer depends on how much you hold, how often you move it, and how confident you are about storing a recovery phrase safely for years.
