XAUT has no cap, no emission schedule and no staking. Supply expands when verified customers buy gold-backed tokens from the issuer and contracts when they redeem, with each token meant to correspond to one fine troy ounce in the reserves. There is no yield, because gold pays none. Costs come from the issuer's fee schedule covering purchase, redemption and delivery, first effective 23 January 2020 and last updated 27 January 2025. Reserves are reviewed quarterly by BDO Italia.
